Detectives
This project is created for students at the end of grade 4 as the very last topic for the school year. It is helpful if students are used to open learning scenarios and have good English skills. The aim of this task cycle is to repeat vocabulary, to introduce new vocabulary, and to motivate students for secondary school. The project is divided into Pre-, While-, and Post-Task:
Pre-Task: Description of the picture + creating a mind-map

While-Task: Task cycle with 5 different activities
1. Listen to the story and glue the pictures in the right order!
2. Write a word from your word-box in cryptograph. Your partner has to decode (entschlüsseln) your word!

3. Read the text. Draw a picture of the criminal and complete the “Wanted-Poster”!

The Criminal
The criminal is 30 years old.
He has red hair and wears a black hat.
He has a big nose and small blue eyes.
The criminal has a full beard and small red lips.
The victim could see a scar (Narbe) on his left cheek.
4. Who is the criminal? Play with a partner!

5. Design your own detective ID
Post-Task: The teacher prepares a treasure map for a treasure hunt around the school which is planned for the very last session of the school year. The treasure consists of candy and a lucky charm for each student for secondary school. Everyone can get a stamp on his own detective ID.
